Part 9. Exploring Mars with the Crew Mars Rover.

On the surface of Mars, the Terra-1 Crew performed five expeditions to different areas, one of them was to the Viking 1 Landing site, they found it, and retrieved a piece of it that was requested by scientists, they also left a commemorative plaque with the names of all the Viking team.

The excursions took them to the four cardinal points of Terra Camp, as they called the Mars Surface station. They covered near 6000 kilometers in total with the Crew Mars Rover; they left portable meteorological stations and drilled in all the places they stopped to take samples and analyze the soil beneath the surface. At the northern point they left a module that will be use by future explorers as a station for an excursion to the North Pole.

For the last excursion they used a special drone to explore remote places out of their reach and picked a soil sample.

They celebrated the first Olympiad far from Earth, of course with very few competitions.

All the drilled and surface samples gathered, were analyzed remotely by scientists on Earth using special instruments in the MarsLab; only the most interesting ones will be taken back to Earth Orbit in sealed containers with the Crew.

En la superficie, la tripulación Terra-1 realizó cinco expediciones a diferentes áreas, una de las cuales fue al sitio de aterrizaje del Viking 1 , la encontraron, y recuperaron una pieza solicitada por los científicos, también dejaron una placa conmemorativa con el nombres de todo el equipo Viking

Las excursiones los llevaron a los cuatro puntos cardinales de Terra Camp, como llamaban a la estación en la superficie de Marte. Recorrieron cerca de 6000 kilómetros en total; dejaron estaciones meteorológicas portátiles y perforaron en todos los lugares donde se detuvieron para obtener muestras del subsuelo. En el punto más al norte, dejaron un módulo que los futuros exploradores usarán como estación para continuar avanzando al Polo Norte.

Para la última excursión usaron un dron especial para explorar lugares remotos a los que ellos no tenían acceso y recoger una muestra de suelo.

En la superficie de Marte celebraron la primera Olimpiada en planeta diferente a la Tierra, por supuesto con muy pocas competencias.

De todas las muestras perforadas y recolectadas de la superficie, fueron analizadas remotamente por científicos en la Tierra con instrumentos del Marslab; solo los más interesantes serán devueltos con la tripulación a la órbita de la Tierra en contenedores sellados.
